Job description

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll lead financial modeling, forecasting and analysis while developing actionable insights for senior management. You'll build and maintain Tableau dashboards to track KPIs and collaborate across departments to support data-driven business strategies and financial planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial planning and analysis

  • Develop & manage financial models related to revenue forecasting, expenses, and profitability.

  • Analyze financial trends to provide actionable insight.

  • Lead complex analyses, prepare detailed forecasts and projections, and provide insights to senior management.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports

  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders highlighting KPI’s and the financial health of the organization.

  • Build dashboards in Tableau to highlight these key performance metrics.

  • Continuously improve BI solutions by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing updates to better serve business needs.

  • Optimize the performance of reports, dashboards, and queries to ensure they run efficiently and provide timely insights.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment on financial goals

  • Collaborate across departments to develop data-driven business strategies through business analysis and reporting.

  • When time permits, contribute to cross-departmental analytics projects using their analytics and data-visualization skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Self-starter with prior success in fast-paced startup environments

  • Technical Skills: Accounting knowledge. Experience with data visualization. Proficiency in building and analyzing financial models, Excel, and Google Sheets.

  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex data sets, draw meaningful insights, and make data-driven recommendations. Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think critically and strategically.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

  • Collaborative team player.

Nice to Haves

  • An understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

  • Proficiency in Tableau or other visualization software, including experience with dashboard creation, data visualization, and report generation.

  • Experience working directly with executive teams.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 7+ years of United States corporate finance or accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in financial analytics and budgeting (Professional experience only; academic projects not considered)

  • Candidate is expected to work 40 hours per week and support at least six hours of Pacific timezone working hours (9 am to 5 pm PT) every work day, with some flexibility available.

  • Fully-remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States, but candidates must be based in the US.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

  • The expected starting pay range is from $95,650 - $140,040. Miaplaza’s compensation philosophy ensures equity and competitiveness while considering the regional differences in living and labor costs. Specific rates will be provided during the hiring process and are aligned with market data and internal equity.
