Classification: Full-time, 32-40 hours a week
Pay Range: 80,000€ - 200,000€/year

As we continue to scale and grow our development organization, we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a strong technical background to lead 1-2 teams of engineers. The exact teams will be set based on your experience, expertise, and interest in an open discussion with us.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will manage and grow a team of engineers delivering reliable, high-quality software in close collaboration with product managers, designers, cross-functional peers, and leadership. You’ll help shape the technical and team strategy, provide hands-on mentorship, and ensure strong execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role is perfect for a staff-level or senior engineer with exceptional people skills ready to become an engineering manager, or a current engineering manager with a strong foundation in clean code and clean architecture. While you might not be hands-on coding in your day-to-day, you will be expected to provide strong code reviews, technical guidance, make critical architecture decisions, and jump in hands-on if needed.
Responsibilities
Manage, support, and grow 1-2 teams of engineers (8-12 engineers)
Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering leaders to define team goals and priorities that align with company initiatives
Review technical designs and contribute to architecture decisions to ensure scalable and maintainable systems, considering short and long-term trade-offs
Foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing team culture based on trust, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
Mentor engineers in areas such as clean architecture, domain modeling, design patterns, testing, and overall engineering best practices
Facilitate team rituals such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and 1:1s
Compensation
The expected starting salary range is 80,000€ - 200,000€/year. Our top-of-market competitive compensation is based on market data, regional cost of living, employment type, background, skills, experience, and internal equity.

Job requirements
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of professional software development experience
1-2 years in a technical leadership or people management role
Strong experience with C#/.NET (or similar object-oriented languages) and modern reactive web application development (Vue3, React, etc)
Strong understanding of clean architecture, domain-driven design, and testable code
Strong experience mentoring engineers
Experience with migration patterns
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams across time zones
Be a proactive and driven self-starter
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience managing teams, building external-facing products serving users at scale
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Experience with application security or DevSecOps
Passion for education, learning platforms, and student-centered technology
